Day 4 ✈️✨
Deeper travel heals.
A story for you about salsa dancing. 💃🏽
I was inspired to start dancing salsa while living in Argentina. I loved the dance and set a goal to reach a place where I could dance confidently and freely at socials. Like many things, Covid put a pause on my salsa dancing progress. Yet, I brought it back in Mexico and committed to getting consistent with classes and practice. In Mexico City, I also discovered bachata. I used to watch bachata and think- Nah, that’s not for me. I could never roll my body like that or move in that way.
Funny enough, in Mexico City, I fell in love with learning and dancing bachata.
Dancing has become a healing modality for me. In Mexico, I had my first plant medicine experience. I was taken on a journey that I cannot put into words here and is deeply personal. What I can share is, towards the end of my journey, that night under the stars in the jungle, all I wanted was to sway and flow to the music…and in that moment, I felt an indescribable level of peace.
I’ve felt that same feeling of peace and flow while dancing salsa and bachata. The feeling of time flying, thoughts disappearing, and soaring through the activity.
Pure FLOW state.
Dancing is medicine for the soul. Salsa and bachata have become that for me. Through traveling and exploring this dance, I’ve discovered a deep passion and connection with it.
When I start dancing, my face lights up, time flies, and I fall into a meditative state. I can’t think of many activities that have brought me into this deep flow state.
So let this story be a reminder to say YES to more things that scare you. To get out of your comfort zone and try new things. One decision to give it a try could lead to a new favorite activity. 💃🏽✨
Travel deeper. 💫
